Purpose and eligibility
ScholarNote is a service for temporary introductions, private ideas, inquiries, collaboration requests, and other lawful messages. You must be legally able to agree to these terms in your jurisdiction or use the service with appropriate guardian or institutional permission.
Acceptable use
You may use ScholarNote only for lawful communication. You are responsible for the note text and profile link you submit, the people with whom you share a complete link, and maintaining another appropriate record when communication is important.
Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use ScholarNote to:
- break any law, regulation, court order, or institutional obligation;
- send harassment, abuse, stalking material, credible threats, or content intended to intimidate or harm;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation, credentials, identity, or ownership of a public profile;
- infringe copyright, patent, trade-secret, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual-property rights;
- distribute malware, phishing material, exploit code intended for harm, or instructions that facilitate abuse;
- share child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate material, or other unlawful content;
- interfere with, overload, probe, reverse engineer for abuse, or bypass technical limits of the service;
- use the service for emergencies, illegal trade, password or secret-key transfer, general anonymous messaging, or highly sensitive regulated information.
Recipient copies and idea ownership
ScholarNote cannot guarantee that a recipient will not copy, photograph, screenshot, forward, or otherwise preserve a visible note. Deleting the encrypted server record does not erase recipient-made copies. The service does not establish, prove, register, or guarantee legal ownership, priority, confidentiality obligations, inventorship, authorship, or intellectual-property rights in an idea. Seek suitable legal or institutional protection where needed.
Profile links
You may submit only a public https:// profile URL you are authorized to share. ScholarNote does not verify ownership, identity, content, safety, or accuracy of external pages. External sites have their own terms and privacy practices.
Availability and changes
The service is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, delivery, retention, security, or fitness for a particular purpose. Notes may become unavailable because of expiration, deletion, outages, maintenance, abuse controls, data loss, or changes to the service. Features and these terms may be updated, with the effective date shown above.
Moderation and deletion
To the extent technically possible, ScholarNote may restrict access, rate-limit requests, cooperate with lawful investigations, or delete records believed to be abusive, unlawful, unsafe, or contrary to these terms. Encryption may limit the operator's ability to review note content.
Responsibility and limitation
You use ScholarNote at your own risk and remain responsible for complying with employment, confidentiality, export-control, and data-protection obligations. To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the operator is not liable for lost messages, recipient conduct, lost opportunities, disclosure, copied content, content disputes, or indirect or consequential loss.
